Formula One championship 2010 calendar released


The sports governing body, the FIA has confirmed the 19-race calendar for the 2010 Formula One championship.

The season kick-starts on 14th March and closes on 14th November in Abu Dhabi.

The programme which was released in September remains the same with only few adjustments, and several minor date changes including Brazil, swopping places with Abu Dhabi to become the penultimate leg of the season.

As announced already, the Canadian Grand Prix, due for 13th June is still subject to a deal, signed with Bernie Ecclestone’s Formula One Management Company.

The South Korean Grand Prix, however, is a fresher to the F1 season, and organizers have reported that work on this new track is making good progress.

The construction work on the circuit will be complete by 5th July 2010, with 60 percent of work already completed, said Kevin Lee, the Circuit’s Managing Director.

The 2010 F1 calendar details are as follows: Bahrain Grand Prix; March 28: Australia; April 4: Malaysia; April 18: China; May 9: Spain; May 16, Monaco; May 30: Turkey; June 13: *Canada; June 27: European (Valencia, Spain); July 11, Britain; July 25: Germany; Aug 1: Hungary; Aug 29: Belgian; Sept 12: Italy; Sept 26: Singapore; Oct 10: Japan; Oct 24: South Korea; Nov 7: Brazil; Nov 14: Abu Dhabi.

The said dates are subject to completion of contract negotiations with Formula One Management. In case they are not completed, then the Turkish Grand Prix will be re-scheduled for 6th June.
