Bahrain cracks down on illegal migrants
Bahrain Interior Ministry has directed to track and deport all illegal migrants in the Kingdom.
Several thousands of South Asians, particularly from Pakistan and Bangladesh are said to have flooded the Bahrain job market, officials said.
The crackdown follows instructions by H.H. Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad al Khalifa.
The Labour Minister in Bahrain, Majid Al Alawi said that the ministry has established police unit to track and arrest illegal residents. Hundred officers have been handed over the responsibility to co-ordinate with the Labour Ministry.
According to the new police unit, Al Alawi said it could battle human trafficking rings. The Ministry even plans to establish detention centers for illegal labourers.
