Eductation in Manama Bahrain
There are numerous international schools and educational institutions in Bahrain. One such prominent institution is the DePaul University of the United States. During the initial part of twentieth century, Quranic schools were the only form of education in Bahrain.
As people felt that this kind of education did not meet the academic efficiency to keep pace with the spirit of age, things changed and Bahrain became very open to the modern western ressainance. Hence there was an increasing demand for modern educational institutions that is different from the Quranic schools. The modern public school system in Bahrain began dueing the year 1919. During the year 1926, the Education Committee opened another public school for boys in Manama. The first public school for girls was opened in Muharraq.
Currently, Bahrain has an advanced educational system. King Hamad bin khalifa Al Khalifa introduced a new king of project, named King Hamad Schools of Future. This project aims to connect and link all schools within the kingdom of internet and introduce the idea of education everywhere. Apart from various other British intermediate schools, the island of Bahrain has the Bahrain School (BS). BS is a United States Department of Defense school that offers a K-12 curriculum with International Baccalaureate degrees.
There are also numerous other private schools. Schooling and other costs are paid entirely by the government, though the primary and secondary attendance rates are high. Bahrain encourages higher learning, with the help of expatriate talent and also with the increasing pool of advanced degrees returning from abroad.
The University of Bahrain has been established for standard graduate and undergraduate study and the College of Health Sciences under the guidance by the Ministry of Health. There are also numerous private universities and learning institutes in the country.
